QUICK OVERVIEW

The Buckeye Table Tennis Club was founded in Fall 2004, with a handful of players. Since then, the club has reached over 60 members and organizes various activities. Players can participate in a weekly league that follows the official college online rating system. We also run a coached practice where you can learn how to improve your game faster. All members are allowed to participate in the inter-collegiate NCTTA matches. For more details and an overview of the club benefits, make sure to check out and print the Club Flyer. The Buckeye Table Tennis Club always welcomes new players, but be aware that spots fill up quickly. If you have additional questions, take a look at our FAQ page.

Inter-Collegiate Competition
The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (www.nctta.org) is the official organization running collegiate team events. Regional meetings take place once in Fall and once in Winter. Upon qualification, teams can represent their schools at the national championships in Spring. The Buckeye Table Tennis Club plays in the Ohio Division. Besides a 'A' men's and women's team, the BTTC also has a B and C 'junior' teams to let more players participate in the events.
During the 2004-2005 season, our Buckeyes managed to capture the Ohio division crown and finished 9th at the nationals !

Coached Practice
The weekly coached practice is lead by two coaches. Two small groups of players are allowed to participate on a first-come first-serve basis. The focus here is on specific drills, multi-ball practice, learning new shots or improve current shots, understand spin better... While we do not require any specific play-level, you wil gain the most out of this sessions if you already have some ball control and 'can keep the ball on the table' 10-20 times. The club also owns a robot that will be put into action whenever possible.
Coached Practice currently takes place on Sunday nights, 8pm to 11pm.

Weekly League
For the first time, a real league has been launched using the official collegiate rating system. Ratings are updated online every week and change depending on your wins/losses. Top check out some examples, click on the buckeye TTC or OSUTTC Friday league at www.ratingscentral.com. Each week, players are seeded in a small round robin group of 4 or 5 players around their own rating. If it is your first time, you will receive an estimated rating.
For the weekly league schedule, please check the news page of this website.
